Vehicles and car parts seized

Officials of the Indirect Taxation Authority seized two passenger motor vehicles and a larger quantity of car parts worth a total of 46,500 BAM in two separate operations, reports the BH news agency Patria.

Based on operational information about the smuggling of vehicles from the European Union, officials of the Smuggling Prevention Group, Regional Centre Tuzla, carried out checks on the movement and origin of goods in the municipality of Lukavac. During this, they found 2 passenger motor vehicles and a larger quantity of parts intended for sale. The value of the temporarily seized goods is 34,000 BAM.

During enhanced control of the movement and origin of goods at the Rača Border Crossing, UINO officials, with the help of specialized equipment donated through the EXBS program (optical cable with camera, buster, and inspection needle), found and seized various parts for motor vehicles. These included 3 gas installation kits, various automotive parts, and electric motors. The value of the temporarily seized goods is 12,500 BAM.

In accordance with the provisions of the Law on Customs Violations of BiH, a request for the initiation of misdemeanor proceedings will be filed against the perpetrators of the described irregularities before the competent court.
