(Patria) - Regardless of the state of emergency in Bosnia and Herzegovina caused by the Covid 19 virus, officials from the groups for combating smuggling and offenses within the Indirect Taxation Authority continue to intensively carry out activities in the field. Thus, authorized officials of the ITA from the Sarajevo regional center, on the Sarajevo – Konjic road, found and temporarily seized 260 kg of cut dried tobacco, which was intended for sale on the black market in BiH. The seized tobacco was found during the inspection of two passenger motor vehicles, and it was not marked with the legally prescribed excise stamps issued by the ITA. The total market value of the temporarily seized goods is around 39,000 KM.
The mentioned activities were carried out according to the instructions of the duty prosecutor of the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and in the coming period, appropriate proceedings will be initiated before the competent court against the two individuals from whom the tobacco was seized.
The Indirect Taxation Authority of BiH calls on all citizens to report any form of customs or VAT evasion on our open line 080 02 06 07. All calls are free and completely anonymous.
