"Resist" and opposition parties signed the "Agreement on the Future"

PODGORICA, (Patria) - At the protests in Podgorica last night, representatives of the civic initiative "Resist" and all parliamentary opposition parties in Montenegro signed the "Agreement on the Future", demanding the resignation of the top state and judicial authorities and the formation of a technical government, with the obligation that they will boycott all elections until their demands are met. 

According to estimates, several thousand citizens attended the protest, and opposition leaders came on stage in alphabetical order and signed the agreement. The agreement was signed on behalf of the "Resist" initiative by Džemal Perović, Omer Šarkić, Dejan Pejović, Demir Hodžić, and Ratka Jovanović-Vukotić. 

The signed agreement calls for the formation of a government of civic unity on a parity basis, which would consist of one-third representatives of the authorities, one-third from the opposition, and one-third representatives of the non-governmental sector and prominent intellectuals.

None of those currently participating in the government will be able to lead such a government, it was specified. It is also stated that they will agree on non-institutional action, which means that parties will be able to participate in the work of the parliament, and there were previously disputes over this article, and a compromise has been reached with this solution. 

The signatories of the agreement pledged to work on accelerating European integration.
