Maintaining something unconstitutional is a serious threat to the integrity and sovereignty of a country!

The Constitutional Court of BiH declared the marking of January 9th as the Day of RS unconstitutional, as it discriminates against the other two peoples in RS.

Authorities from Banja Luka do not wish to accept the Court's decision, which is why the President of RS Milorad Dodik initiated a referendum on this issue, which is being held today.

Another decision of the Constitutional Court was the prohibition of the announced referendum, but the politicians leading the BiH entity of Republika Srpska do not wish to comply with that either.

Polling stations opened today, and Bosniaks in the smaller BiH entity will ignore this "story" in accordance with the recommendations coming from the Federation of BiH.

Many Bosniak returnee families in RS decided to leave their homes today, and will spend this Sunday in the Federation. Therefore, an almost ethnically pure RS, at Dodik's will, is challenging BiH, its judiciary, and the Dayton Peace Agreement with this referendum today.

BiH Security Minister Dragan Mektić confirmed for N1 that the leaders of police and intelligence structures in the country are in constant contact due to the security situation in BiH.

It was previously stated that there are currently no indications of incidents and possible security breaches.

Political analyst Almir Terzić is of the opinion that after today, nothing will be the same.

- I think that after today, nothing will be the same in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Maintaining something that is unconstitutional is a serious threat to the integrity and sovereignty of a country. Domestic institutions have mostly done what they could. The biggest culprit is therefore the OHR – Terzić stated.
