(Patria) - Sarajevo native Dino Bajrić defended the title of best at the event "Jump into Kazan", the 22nd International Competition in Extreme Water Jumps, held today on the main city beach in Konjic.
Second place went to Igor Arsenić from Banja Luka, while third place was awarded to Evald Krnjić from Montenegro.
- We are glad that the best domestic jumpers, as well as those from the region, gathered again in Konjic. There is room here only for the best. I congratulate all jumpers, especially the winner. This event, which grows from year to year, would be impossible to hold without the general patron the City of Konjic, and sponsors the Federal Ministry of Tourism and Environment, the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports, the Tourist Board of the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton, the Government of the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton... All of them contributed and are responsible for the tradition continuing for more than two decades – says the executive producer and organizer of the event, Elmir Miro Hadžialić.
The jumps are performed from a height of 16 meters into the Neretva River at a place called Kazan.
Kazan is 2x2 meters in size and two meters deep, surrounded by rocks at a depth of one meter, which gives the jumps a special charm and raises the adrenaline of both competitors and the audience.
These are three rocks in the Neretva River that emerge and continue as stone rocks underwater, where the depth is about half a meter. Between them there is a hole, the so-called "Kazan".
