Presentation of Preliminary Findings of the Second Phase of the Bilateral Assistance Program between CBBiH and SECO Held

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina (CBBiH) hosted a closing meeting and presentation of the preliminary findings of the mission for the second phase of the Bilateral Assistance and Capacity Building Program for Central Banks (BCC), as part of the cooperation between CBBiH and the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) of the Government of Switzerland.

SECO approved the continuation of the Bilateral Assistance and Capacity Building Program for Central Banks (BCC) for the period 2018-2022, which will be implemented in partnership with the Geneva Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies.

In order to prepare the Program and strategically plan activities and results over the five-year period, a technical mission from the Geneva Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies, led by the director of the BCC program, visited CBBiH from June 26 to June 28, 2018.

The goal of the mission was to analyze and identify CBBiH's needs for technical assistance. A memorandum of cooperation defining priority areas and business functions of CBBiH to be included in the Program will be concluded by the end of the year.

The first phase of the Bilateral Assistance and Capacity Building Program project between CBBiH and SECO for the period 2014-2017 was successfully completed, achieving general development goals in the areas of monetary policy, statistics, and human resource management.
