Commemoration held for deceased employees of "Kovačići" Elementary School

SARAJevo, (Patria) - A commemoration was held at the International Center for Children and Youth Novo Sarajevo for the deceased employees of "Kovačići" Elementary School who died in a horrific accident on Friday, April 12th, while returning from Pale towards Sarajevo. The car in which four school employees were traveling skidded off the road into a 200-meter-deep ravine.

Today, colleagues, students, parents, associates, representatives of the Sarajevo Canton Government, and numerous citizens bid them farewell. All those who addressed the gathering had only the kindest words for Merima Balkić, Lejla Sadiković, Almina Ćorović, and Mina Kadrić, emphasizing that they were a source of pride as they passed on their knowledge and life values to children.

The loss of dear colleagues is already felt.

Sanela Alagić from the Association of Pedagogues of Sarajevo Canton said that Merima, Lejla, Almina, and Mina were incredible women and role models for everyone, and that everyone was proud to have been a part of their lives.

"We are still as sad as we were at the moment we learned they were gone. This is not goodbye, this is see you later," she said.

Students of "Kovačići" Elementary School had a particularly emotional address.
