Second cleanup action "Novi Val" held

(Patria) - As part of the preparations for the 20th Cortland World Junior Championship in "fly fishing", which
will be held from July 16 to 23, 2023 in Blagaj, the Youth Club "Novi val" together with the
Sports Fishermen Association "Neretva 1933" Mostar, Diving Club Mostar, Blagaj City, DVD Blagaj and the citizens of Blagaj organized an action to clean the Buna River.

This initiative is part of our common goal to promote sport fishing, preserve natural resources, and
protect rivers. During the cleanup action, which was held on the Buna River, volunteers collected large quantities of waste,
and they managed to clean the riverbed of the Buna River as well as the coastal areas. These impressive achievements testify to the dedication and commitment of all participants in the action.

"The Youth Club 'Novi val' is proud to have co-organized the cleanup action of the Buna River ahead of the World Junior Championship in fly fishing. Our cooperation with associations is key to promoting sports, fishing, and nature conservation. We thank all the volunteers who joined and contributed to the success of this action, as well as the members of these associations without whom we would not have achieved such good results," said the president of the Youth Club Novi Val, Adnan Đuliman.

The Sports Fishermen Federation of BiH, the Youth Club Novi Val, and the environmental organization The Nature Conservancy signed a cooperation agreement for the implementation of the 20th Cortland World Junior Championship in "fly fishing", and the hosts of this competition are the Sports Fishermen Association "Neretva 1933" Mostar and the city of Mostar as the host of the world junior championship.

The Cortland World Junior Championship in "fly fishing" will gather young anglers from all over the world.

We hereby wish to appeal to the citizens of Blagaj who live near the Buna River to behave responsibly in accordance with the rules of the upcoming championship, and we especially draw attention to not throwing mown grass, swimming during the competition, and using boats and other vessels.
