Meeting held between carriers and officials from the Customs Sector of the Indirect Taxation Authority

(Patria) - After yesterday's meeting that carriers had with the Director of the Indirect Taxation Authority, Zoran Tegeltija, an open and constructive meeting was held today with experts from the Customs Sector, where all issues of interest expressed by carrier representatives were discussed.

The ITA expressed its commitment to continuously improve and simplify customs procedures to the greatest extent possible, moving towards their full digitalization, with shorter customs clearance times for goods and the elimination of any potential "occurrences" that could hinder these intentions.

Carriers showed particular interest in Bosnia and Herzegovina's swift accession to the Convention on a Common Transit Procedure, and they were informed by the ITA about the plan for resolving this issue.

Both sides reviewed certain issues where significant improvements can be achieved, and which the ITA will prioritize and dedicate substantial attention to, as it has done so far. The ITA provided information on the digitalization process map for the electronic CMR, on entry and exit summary declarations submitted by carriers or their representatives to the EU, and on the system used for submitting them.

At the meeting, continuous cooperation between the ITA and carrier representatives was agreed upon, through daily communications as needed and the holding of periodic meetings.
