Reception held on the occasion of July 4th: US will continue to assist the people of BiH

The US Embassy in Sarajevo organized a traditional reception tonight on the occasion of July 4th, Independence Day of the United States of America, reports the BiH news agency Patria (NAP). In the presence of a large number of domestic officials, members of the diplomatic corps and public figures, Chargé d'Affaires Nicholas Hill said that the US will remain with the people of BiH.

He expressed his joy that he can mark this important date for the US in BiH, but emphasized that it also reminds him of the unbreakable bond between the two countries. Hill recalled the significant events in BiH since the beginning of this year, saying that he, like the citizens, expects this country to move forward.

- Citizens are tired of unemployment and corruption, and the US will be with you on the path of change – said Hill, among other things. The reception at the US Embassy in Sarajevo was attended by top state officials, representatives of religious communities and businessmen.

We remind you that on July 4, 1776, members of the Second Continental Congress, held in Philadelphia, adopted the Declaration of Independence, thereby seceding from Great Britain. It was signed by 56 people. The Declaration itself became the most popular and most copied political document of all time. It was written by Thomas Jefferson, who would later become President of the USA, and was corrected and finalized by John Adams, Benjamin Franklin, and Jefferson.

On the occasion of July 4th, various summer activities are organized throughout the US, including picnics, baseball games, watermelon eating contests, and trips to the beach, and apple pie is an indispensable dessert.
