Detention ordered for three employees of Sarajevo Prison, transferred to Zenica

Prison guards at Sarajevo Prison Nikola Simić and Armin Delić, as well as medical technician Igor Miloš, were ordered one-month detention by a judge of the Municipal Court in Sarajevo, and they are suspected of the criminal offense of unlawfully releasing an arrested person, while Igor Miloš is accused of enabling the escape of a person deprived of liberty. Prisoner Amel Sejfović escaped from Sarajevo Prison on Sunday, reports Patria news agency.

The lawyers of the accused did not receive the court's decision, but since their clients did not report, it is clear that they remained in detention. At the request of the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office, they were transferred from Sarajevo to Zenica Prison. The police are searching for the escapee Amel Sejfović.

The Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office requested detention for two arrested individuals, Amir Ibrahimi and Dževad Hazić, who provided Sejfović with a means of transport for his escape.

The pistol that Sejfović had with him and from which he fired during his escape was given to him by employees of Sarajevo Prison, who also made other omissions to allow him to escape.

The motorcycle with which Sejfović escaped with an accomplice was found on Monday in Ciglane.

Four people arrested in the area of Visoko are still undergoing criminal processing at the Sarajevo Canton Ministry of Internal Affairs; a decision will be made during the day whether and who among them will be handed over to the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office.
