Detention ordered for Josip Šimić

At the proposal of the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office, the Municipal Court in Sarajevo ordered detention for suspect Josip Šimić Đinđić. Detention was ordered due to the risk that the suspect, if at liberty, could conceal evidence and influence witnesses or accomplices. Josip Šimić Đinđić is suspected of the criminal offenses of "forgery of a document" and "false representation," the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office announced, reports Patria News Agency.

On September 1, the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office opened an investigation against Šimić because there is a well-founded suspicion that he committed the criminal offense of "forgery of a document" under Article 373 of the Criminal Code of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The subject of this Prosecutor's Office's investigation is only the disputed SIPA document that was submitted to the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton, as the factually and locally competent prosecutor's office, continues to work on this case, given that it concerns a criminal offense prescribed by the Criminal Code of the Federation of BiH - the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office announced.
