Temporary traffic regime change approved on Bjelašnica

(Patria) - The Ministry of Transport of Sarajevo Canton has approved a temporary change of traffic regime on the Babin Do - Štinji Do road on Bjelašnici for the company "Debos", due to the execution of works on the dismantling of a crane. The decision applies to the period from 6 to 13 January 2022, from 07:00 to 16:00 hours, excluding weekends.

The temporary change consists of a traffic suspension on the section of the roadway where the dismantling works are being carried out, except for vehicles of the contractor, residents and owners of commercial facilities in the road belt, who will be successively allowed through to their plots every full hour during the suspension. Also exempt are vehicles under Articles 125 and 126 of the Law on the Basics of Road Traffic Safety in BiH.

The contractor is obliged to install all traffic signs and equipment defined in the submitted study, with the addition that all signage must be equipped with light-emitting elements that will be switched on for the entire duration of the works. The part of the roadway where the works are being carried out must be protected using reinforced concrete barriers.

Among other things, the applicant is obliged to ensure an unobstructed and safe passage for pedestrians and their protection, to install prescribed signs, and after the end of the traffic suspension period, to secure the construction site with reinforced concrete elements and re-establish the regular traffic flow regime. Also, the contractor must not leave the traffic unsupervised, and the change of regime should be carried out with the consent of legal entities located in the work zone, whose work could potentially be disrupted by this change.
