Decision on prescribing measures of direct price control is no longer valid

The Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, at the continuation of its 47th session today, adopted the Decision on the cessation of validity of the Decision on prescribing measures of direct price control, it was announced from the Government of FBiH.

The reason for the cessation of validity of the direct price control measures is that during the period from the declaration of the state of natural disaster to the regulation of the situation regarding the remediation of consequences caused by floods, and regarding the supply and prices of basic foodstuffs and hygiene products, as well as other products.

We remind you that the Federal Government initially adopted that Decision after it declared a state of natural disaster in the area of FBiH on May 15, 2014, caused by heavy rainfall and floods. The adoption of the decision was preceded by the assessment of the Government of FBiH that the conditions for taking measures of direct price control had been met.

On May 18, the Government of FBiH tasked the Federal Ministry of Trade and the Federal Administration for Inspection Affairs to, in cooperation with the competent authorities and inspectorates of all cantons in FBiH, intensively monitor price movements, and in cases of their illegal and unfounded increase and possible abuses, to urgently take measures within their jurisdiction and inform the Government of FBiH about it, it was announced from the Government, reports Patria.

The Federal Ministry of Trade will, in cooperation with the competent inspectorates, consumer associations and other competent bodies, continue to monitor the market situation, and in case of inappropriate and dishonest behavior of traders, take other appropriate measures.
