Decision on the procurement of cars for the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina was made on March 7 last year

Regarding the article "Džaferović, Bosić and Krišto get new Passats", the Public Relations Sector of the Secretariat of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina reacted and issued a press release denying the allegations from the text published by the media.

It is not true that the procurement of cars for the needs of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina is "the first significant decision resulting from the constitution of the House of Representatives". It is true, in fact, that the Decision on the procurement of cars in accordance with the adopted Law on the Budget of the Institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina and International Obligations of Bosnia and Herzegovina for 2014, based on the Public Procurement Plan for last year, 2014, was made by the Collegium of the Secretariat of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina on March 7, 2014, thus a full nine months before the establishment of the new convocation of the House of Representatives. The Notice on the procurement of new vehicles was published on November 17, 2014, and the correction of the Notice on November 24, 2014, thus also before the establishment of the new House of Representatives and its leadership – the press release states.

It is further incorrect that the new cars are intended for the members of the Collegium of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, nor does any Decision exist that provides for this. It is true, in fact, that vehicles in the Parliamentary Assembly are procured exclusively for the renewal of worn-out fixed assets and for the needs of performing the basic functions of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

- An easily verifiable truth is also that, for now, not only does no request exist to replace the vehicles currently used by the cabinets of the members of the Collegium of the House of Representatives with newer ones, as it is also easy to learn that no service or working body of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina has discussed or made any decision on the purpose of the new vehicles – it is further added.

Given that the text "Džaferović, Bosić and Krišto get new Passats" suggested extravagance by the Collegium of the House of Representatives, it is appropriate to inform the public of the fact that the new leadership of this House has been mindful of austerity measures since taking office. Upon assuming their functions, for example, all three members of the Collegium of the House of Representatives renounced their right to permanent police protection, which they are entitled to by law, in order to reduce costs.
