Kakanj Mayor's Decision: Instead of Public New Year's Eve Celebration, Funds Go Towards Treatment of 7-Year-Old Evelin

Kakanj Municipality Mayor Nermin Mandra has decided that the money intended for the public New Year's Eve celebration will be redirected for the treatment of seven-year-old boy Evelin Alajbegović, writes Patria.

Understanding the fact that urgent funds are needed for the surgery of our fellow citizen, seven-year-old boy Evelin Alajbegović, and respecting the opinions of citizens with whom he consulted via the Kakanj Municipality Facebook profile, Mayor Nermin Mandra has decided that the amount planned for the costs of the New Year's Eve 2017 open-air program will be paid towards the boy's treatment.

The boy has a brain tumor, and the surgery will be performed in Germany, for which 130,000 KM is needed. Otherwise, Kakanj had planned 10,000 KM for the public New Year's Eve celebration. The goal is to involve other donors to collect the necessary funds. You can donate funds for Evelin Alajbegović's treatment in Germany by calling the humanitarian number 090 291 054. Each call donates 2 KM.

Instead of a night program, only a daytime program intended for children will be organized.
