DECISION ON SBB: Will Mirvad Kurić be the Minister of Education of the Sarajevo Canton?

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - A vote of no confidence was passed in the Government of the Sarajevo Canton led by Prime Minister Edin Forto, after a new parliamentary majority of SDA, SBB, DF and BOSS, which have 18 representatives in the Sarajevo Canton Assembly, took effect. 

The appointment of a new Government of the Sarajevo Canton is expected, and many names are in the running. The position of Minister of Education, currently held by Zineta Bogunić, is a hot topic, and it should go to SBB. It is reportedly also considering the possibility of swapping this ministry with SDA, and unofficially from SBB, Patria was told that this function could be taken over by Mirvad Kurić, the current Minister of Culture in the Sarajevo Canton Government.
However, he could not confirm such information.

„I really hear this from you for the first time. But, the party bodies will decide,“ Kurić said.

The coalition of SDA, SBB, and DF, called Friday the 13th because on Friday, December 13, the presidents of these parties announced a coalition at all levels of government, has already divided the ministries in the Sarajevo Canton Government. 

It is known that the joint candidate on which there is agreement for the mandate holder will be Mario Nenadić, former Minister of Justice and Administration of the Sarajevo Canton. 
In the distribution of ministries, SDA received seven positions: finance, communal economy and infrastructure, culture and sports, justice and administration, spatial planning, transport, and veterans' affairs. 
Media reported today that SDA's proposal for the position of Minister of Communal Economy and Infrastructure should be Nihada Glamoč, for Minister of Finance SDA should propose Jasmin Halebić, a man who also held that function in the 2014-2018 term.

SDA should propose architect Faruk Kapidžić, known among other things as the conceptual creator of the Avaz Twist Tower project, for Minister of Spatial Planning, Construction and Environmental Protection. As a potential minister for veterans' affairs, Tajib Delalić, assistant chief in the Novi Grad Municipality, is mentioned, and Hazim Bahtanović, current councilor in the Sarajevo City Council, is also in the running.

The new Minister of Transport in the Sarajevo Canton could be Adi Kalem (SDA), current chairman of the Hadžići Municipal Council.

For the Ministry of Justice (SDA), the candidates are Maja Hadžihalilović and Velida Memić.

For the Ministry of Culture and Sports, Ivica Šarić, Emir Hadžihafizbegović and Damir Mirković are mentioned as candidates. SBB received the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Education and Science, and Labor and Social Policy. Ismir Jusko, who has held exclusively ministerial positions in recent years, returns to the Ministry of Internal Affairs. He is the current Minister for Veterans' Affairs of the Sarajevo Canton. 

DF will retain the Ministry of Health and provide a candidate for Minister of Economy. It is still unknown whether Amela Sofić will remain as Minister of Health or will hand over that position to Rusmir Mesihović.
How much the parties will take into account the national and gender representation of ministers in the Sarajevo Canton Government will be shown next week when the final composition of the Sarajevo Canton Government should be known.
