Shameful salary increase for Komšić, Čampara and Čović postponed

The decision on salaries and fees in the bodies of the City of Sarajevo was withdrawn at today's session of the City Council, reports the Patria news agency.

This decision will be reconsidered at an extraordinary session on March 11, when a decision will be made on the April 6 award.

We remind that according to the decision, Mayor Ivo Komšić, as the first man of the City of Sarajevo, would receive a salary of 3,150 KM instead of the current 1,890 KM, which is an increase of as much as 1,260 KM. 

His deputies Aljoša Čampara and Ranko Čović would receive 2,967 KM per month under the new decision, while their current salary is 1,680 KM. 

Incidentally, during the discussion, Čampara stated that he is against the salary increase.

Also today, a decision was adopted to award the title of Honorary Citizen of Sarajevo to Florence Hartmann, the long-time spokesperson of the Hague Tribunal, and Kadir Topbaš, the mayor of Istanbul.
