Defense of BiH-Igman 2016: Remembering the Best Sons of Bosnia and Herzegovina

By laying flowers and paying tribute at the memorial at the Kovači cemetery, the two-day traditional event "Defense of BiH-Igman 2016" began today.

The Minister for Veterans' Affairs of the Sarajevo Canton, Muharem Fišo, said that everyone has a great obligation and responsibility, but also a great debt, to carry the martyrs and fallen soldiers in our hearts and to remember them in prayers and other supplications, through commemorating anniversaries and organizing events.

A delegation from the Sarajevo Canton laid flowers at the Kovači cemetery and at the cemetery near the Alipašina mosque, at the memorials in Ferhadija, near the Eternal Flame and on the bridge of Suada Dilberović and Olga Sučić, as well as at the Memorial to the Murdered Children of Besieged Sarajevo.

The organizers of the event are the Ministry for Affairs of Fighters and Disabled Veterans of the Defense-Liberation War of FBiH, the Ministry for Veterans' Affairs of the Sarajevo Canton, as well as a number of Sarajevo municipalities, and cantonal public enterprises and institutions.

As part of the event program, a religious program will be held tonight from 8:00 PM to 12:00 AM in the Igman War Mosque, which includes the recitation of Mevlud and Dhikr.

On Friday, August 5th, the central part of the event will be held at Veliko Polje and in the Igman War Mosque, where a suitable religious program will be organized. The parade of units from all corps of the Army of RBiH will join them. A cultural and artistic program will be held on the plateau of Veliko Polje, and flowers will be laid at the martyrs' cemeteries at Veliko Polje, Mrazište, Brezovača and Sjenička kosa, as well as at the cemeteries in Hrasnica, Trnovo and Pazarić.
