Lawsuits Rejected: Bosniak Camp Inmates Who Sued RS Must Pay 7,000 KM in Court Costs

Republika Srpska is confiscating property of former Bosniak camp inmates, who previously filed lawsuits against this BiH entity, seeking compensation for the torture they endured in some of the Army and police camps of Republika Srpska during the aggression against BiH from 1992 to 1995.

The BiH news agency Patria is in possession of a verdict that arrived on October 20th this year at the address of former Bosniak camp inmate Meho Halilić from Banja Luka, in which the Basic Court in Banja Luka warns him to pay Republika Srpska court costs in the amount of 7,000 KM, or on November 5th, the Court Police will seize his movable property.

The Army and police of RS took Halilić from Banja Luka to the front lines for forced labor from 1992 to 1995, where he suffered torture. A few years ago, together with other camp inmates from Banja Luka, he filed a lawsuit against RS, seeking compensation for torture in the camps. Instead of compensation, the Basic Court in Banja Luka ordered Halilić to pay the entity court costs in the amount of 7,000 KM, or his property would be seized.

Halilić is not the only one who will have to pay large sums of money to RS in the coming days. Several similar verdicts have also arrived at the addresses of other camp inmates, as well as families whose members were killed during the aggression against BiH, who will now have to pay RS because they sought compensation for the death of their loved ones, writes Patria.
