Tribute Paid to General Husein Tursunović

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Minister for Veterans' Affairs of Sarajevo Canton Ismir Jusko laid flowers today at the grave of General Husein Tursunović in the harem of Alipašina Mosque. By laying flowers and reciting Fatiha, numerous comrades, friends, and representatives of all levels of government paid tribute to Husein Tursunović, a Major General of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina, who passed away on this day last year.

General Tursunović was born in Srebrenica, and he showed his bravery during the war, and his determination and persistence for his homeland and its Armed Forces in peacetime. He left behind a valuable legacy that all patriots of this country can be proud of. Husein Tursunović is the recipient of numerous decorations, medals, commendations, and awards. Among others, he received the highest wartime recognition of the Army of RBiH, the "Golden Lily".

He served in the Armed Forces of BiH until February 2018, when he retired from the position of Commander of the Support Command of the Armed Forces of BiH with the rank of Major General.
