Where does the RS Government get 26.6 million KM to buy a building in East Sarajevo?

Transparency International Bosnia and Herzegovina demands that the Government of Republika Srpska explain to the public the purpose and function of the construction of a facility in the area of East Sarajevo that will allegedly serve for the accommodation of representatives of Republika Srpska in the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina, reports the Patria News Agency.

Given that funds are already allocated from the BiH Budget for the accommodation costs of representatives in BiH institutions, TI BiH believes that the purpose of the facility to be built is unclear and that the RS Government is exceeding its jurisdiction with this move and unnecessarily allocating huge funds in the amount of 26.6 million KM.

It is particularly problematic that the Budget of Republika Srpska for 2015 does not provide any funds for the facility whose construction is being announced, and the question arises from which funds this facility is intended to be financed.

TI BiH has submitted a request for access to information to the Government of Republika Srpska, requesting copies of the Decision on giving consent to the draft Agreement on the Sale of Real Estate between the Government of RS and the company "Megasan" d.o.o. Pale, which appears as the seller of the facility to be subsequently renovated, the Agreement on the Sale of Real Estate itself, as well as information on who exactly will have the right to accommodation in the disputed facility.

In addition to the RS Government pompously announcing the construction of a facility whose purpose is unclear, at an unrealistic price and without available funds for this purpose, it does so in a year when austerity measures and rationalization of public spending are simultaneously announced. TI BiH demands that the Government of Republika Srpska prove the justification for building a separate facility, as well as explain to the public of Republika Srpska from which funds the construction will be financed, it was announced from TIBIH.
