Voting started at seven o'clock, 250 polling stations did not open on time

Polling stations across BiH opened this morning at seven o'clock, and eligible voters can exercise their right to vote until 7 PM, when the polling stations close and after which the vote counting will begin, writes the BiH news agency Patria.

Although there were places where the opening was delayed, at most polling stations everything is proceeding according to plan. According to the Central Election Commission's data as of 8:25 AM, 250 polling stations in BiH did not open on time. 

In the General Elections in Bosnia and Herzegovina, voters are electing members of the Presidency of BiH, the president and vice-presidents of the entity RS, representatives to the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly, the Federal Parliament, the National Assembly of RS, and cantonal assemblies.

According to the Central Election Commission, elections are being held at a total of 5,401 polling stations, and there are 270 mobile teams in the field serving citizens who cannot come to the polling stations. 

A total of 3,278,908 eligible voters are registered for the General Elections 2014. In the Federation of BiH, 2,037,076 are registered, and in the RS, 1,241,832. 

There are a total of 7,748 candidates on the ballots. Citizens can choose from 50 political parties, 24 coalitions, 24 independent candidates, and a total of 735 candidate lists have been certified.
