Car confiscated from Sarajevo resident, owes 2,230 KM in fines

On February 21, 2017, police officers of the Fifth Police Station removed from traffic O.N. from Sarajevo, who was caught driving a passenger motor vehicle of the brand “VW Golf”, registration plates A20-K-820. An inspection of the registers of misdemeanor records and fines revealed that he is a repeat offender in committing serious traffic violations under the Law on Road Traffic Safety in BiH, punishable under Article 235 of the same Law, and that he has a debt in the amount of 2,230.00 KM in the Register of Fines, Patria reports.

- Since the sanctions imposed so far have not achieved the purpose of punishment, as he continued to commit the most serious forms of traffic violations under the Law on Road Traffic Safety in BiH, thereby directly endangering public safety, based on the consent of a judge of the Municipal Court in Sarajevo, the motor vehicle was temporarily confiscated from O.N.

The vehicle will be stored at the depot of the Ministry of Interior of Sarajevo Canton in Butmir until the conclusion of the misdemeanor proceedings.
