From midnight on December 30, MUP KS enhanced controls: Movement bans for vehicles below Euro 3 standard

According to the decision of the Government of Sarajevo Canton on amendments and additions to the Plan of emergency measures in cases of excessive air pollution in Sarajevo Canton, new measures have been prescribed which come into force from midnight on December 30, 2015, writes the BH news agency Patria.

- Ban on the movement of cars whose engines have a standard lower than EURO 3 - enhanced controls by MUP organs. This does not apply to vehicles of the police, inspection, Ministry of Defence, public city transport, vehicles with diplomatic plates, and emergency intervention vehicles (ambulance and firefighters).

Traffic ban for heavy motor vehicles, with a total mass of over 3.5 tons, on the stretch from Otoka to Baščaršija in both directions, except in the period from 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM and from 12:00 AM - 6:00 AM. This does not apply to public city transport vehicles, public utility companies, emergency intervention vehicles, and delivery vehicles for food products. During the traffic ban, place prohibition signs on the streets and approaches to the endangered area.
