Car confiscated from a young man who has no driver's license and owes 21,414 KM in fines

On Tuesday, August 1, 2016, at 12:30 PM, police officers from the Traffic Unit of the Ministry of Internal Affairs excluded from traffic in the place of Plandište (Ilidža municipality) R.Ć. from Sarajevo, who was driving a passenger motor vehicle of the brand “Renault”, registration plates J70-M-896, owned by Ć.S. from Hadžići, before obtaining the right to drive, i.e., without a passed driving test, reports the Patria agency.

An inspection of the registers of misdemeanor records and fines revealed that he is a multiple repeat offender in committing serious traffic violations under the Law on Road Traffic Safety in BiH, punishable under Article 235 of the same Law (driving a motor vehicle before obtaining the right to drive), having committed a total of 121 misdemeanors and having a debt in the Register of Fines in the amount of 21,414.00 KM.

Since the sanctions imposed so far have not achieved the purpose of punishment, as he continued to commit the most serious forms of violations under the Law on Road Traffic Safety in BiH, thereby directly endangering public safety, with the consent of a judge of the Municipal Court in Sarajevo, the aforementioned motor vehicle was temporarily confiscated from R.Ć. It has been deposited at the Butmir parking lot until the conclusion of the misdemeanor proceedings.
