From today, BiH driving licenses can be exchanged in Germany without taking a test

Minister of Communications and Transport of BiH Damir Hadžić and Parliamentary State Secretary Katherina Reiche signed a Joint Declaration of Intent between the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure of the Federal Republic of Germany and the Ministry of Communications and Transport of BiH on the procedure for exchanging driving licenses, reports the Patria news agency.

-The Ministry of Communications and Transport of BiH has completed another important project that will directly benefit the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina, said Minister of Communications and Transport of BiH Damir Hadžić, confirming that the declaration came into force after signing.

This facilitates the exchange of driving licenses for persons who hold a valid driving license for passenger motor vehicles and motorcycles, issued by the competent authorities in Bosnia and Herzegovina, i.e., the Federal Republic of Germany.

Citizens can exchange their driving licenses without taking an additional theoretical or practical test if they have resided in Bosnia and Herzegovina for at least 180 days during the calendar year, or at least 185 days in the Federal Republic of Germany.

Negotiations underway

Over the past three years, the Ministry of Communications and Transport of BiH has completed the procedure for recognizing and exchanging driving licenses with Australia and is in the process of negotiating mutual recognition and exchange of driving licenses with the Republic of Italy, the Republic of Turkey, the Republic of Albania, the Republic of Moldova, the Republic of Macedonia, the Kingdom of the Netherlands, the Kingdom of Denmark, and the Kingdom of Spain.
