From December 9 to 19, registration of children for the Compulsory Preschool Education Program for the 2025/2026 school year

(Patria) - The Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Zenica-Doboj Canton informs the public that from December 9 to 19, 2025, children will be registered for the Compulsory Preschool Education Program (POPOiO), intended for children in the year before starting primary school.

The program is implemented in cooperation with public and private preschool institutions and primary schools in the canton, in accordance with the Law on Preschool Education.

The POPOiO program is intended for children who turn 5 years and 6 months by March 1, 2026, and who have not attended any preschool institution in the 2025/2026 school year.

Parents/guardians register at the primary school the child will attend, with the school counselor or another authorized person. The presence of children is not required, nor is the submission of any documentation during the registration itself. Registration will take place on the premises of the schools that the children will attend, within the specified period from December 9 to 19, 2025. Information about medical examination appointments will be announced in due course through the media.

Details about enrollment, required documentation, and the program's implementation timeline will be published through public information channels and on the notice boards of the schools where the children are registered.

The Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of ZDK invites parents and guardians to register their children on time and follow official information regarding the continuation of activities for the implementation of the Compulsory Preschool Education Program.
