Since May 30, 2018, 407 persons prevented from illegally crossing the state border

Police officers at the BiH border on May 30, 31, 2018 and in the early morning hours of June 1, 2018 prevented the illegal entry into BiH of 407 nationals of high migration risk countries (Syria, Libya, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iraq and Iran), the BiH Border Police announced. 

- Tonight and in the early morning hours of June 1, 2018, police officers prevented the illegal crossing of 152 persons, of which 125 in the area of Višegrad, 20 in Zvornik and seven in Foča. On Thursday, May 31, 2018, 102 migrants were deterred from illegally crossing from Serbia and Montenegro, of which 63 in the area of Višegrad, 31 in Foča, 10 in Zvornik and eight in eastern Herzegovina. The migrants were deterred in 16 separate cases.

On Wednesday, May 30, 2018, police officers in 21 separate cases prevented the illegal crossing of the border by 153 persons, of which 99 were deterred in the area of Višegrad, 23 in Foča, 21 in Zvornik and 10 in eastern Herzegovina. 

In the area of Višegrad, border surveillance is carried out by police officers of SIPA, the Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies of BiH and the BiH Border Police, while due to enhanced measures in other areas threatened by increased influx of migrants (Zvornik, Velika Kladuša and eastern Herzegovina), police officers and specialist equipment of the BiH Border Police from other parts of BiH have been deployed.

In addition, members of the Izačić Border Police Unit on May 31, 2018 discovered two groups of persons with certificates of expressed intention to submit an asylum application (19 nationals of Pakistan and 12 of Iraq) who were taken to the reception center in Bihać. Police officers of the Gorica Border Police Unit discovered three nationals of Iraq who were sent to the reception center in Delijaš.
