Ministers from Austria and Germany, as well as a high-level EU delegation, to visit BiH from April 3 to 8

(Patria) - Ministers from Austria and Germany, as well as a high-level EU delegation, will arrive in BiH for an official visit from April 3 to 8.

Austrian Minister for European and International Affairs of the Republic of Austria, Beate Meinl-Reisinger, will arrive in Sarajevo on April 3. On March 21, she had a phone conversation with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of BiH, Elmedin Konaković, who at the time condemned on X the actions of the President of Republika Srpska and fugitive from BiH justice, Milorad Dodik, which are a threat to the stability, territorial integrity, and constitutional order of BiH.

“Austria is one of the main partners for the European path of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Reforms, the rule of law, and stability are key to the future of this country in the European Union. The actions of the President of Republika Srpska, Dodik, are a threat to the stability, territorial integrity, and constitutional order of Bosnia and Herzegovina. He should be sanctioned accordingly,” stated Meinl-Reisinger.

There is an intention among EU member states to introduce individual sanctions against Dodik and the leadership of the Republika Srpska entity, with Austria and Germany considering this most seriously.

Konaković announced that the German Minister for Europe will also soon visit Sarajevo, while a high-level EU delegation is expected to arrive on April 8.

At the beginning of March, EU Enlargement Commissioner Marta Kos was supposed to visit BiH, but after the complication of the situation in BiH and the attacks on the constitutional order by the authorities of Republika Srpska and the National Assembly of Republika Srpska, the visit did not materialize.

Kos stated two days ago that Milorad Dodik cannot be a partner in finding solutions for BiH.
