Out of 20,000 pensioners in Zenica, 14,500 receive minimum pension

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Mayor of Zenica Fuad Kasumović received the President of the Association of Pensioners/Retirees of the City of Zenica, Emin Sijerčić, with associates. On that occasion, President Sijerčić informed Mayor Kasumović about the activities of the Association and current projects, as well as the numerous challenges and difficulties faced by this population.

One of the highlighted problems is the lack of financial resources for the implementation of prepared projects.

Mayor Fuad Kasumović emphasized that this is a highly vulnerable category of the population and that the City Administration will, in accordance with its capabilities, support the Association's projects aimed at improving the social status of pensioners in Zenica.

"About 20,000 pensioners are registered in the area of our city, of which 14,500 are recipients of the minimum pension. We will allocate nearly half of the budget reserve to pensioners for the implementation of their projects. Unfortunately, in this area as well, especially when it comes to pensioners' clubs, we found a disorganized structure," said Mayor Kasumović.

At the end of the reception, the President of the Association, as a sign of gratitude for the exceptional contribution and assistance to the members of the Association of Pensioners/Retirees from the area of the City of Zenica, presented a Plaque to Mayor Fuad Kasumović.
