Flour more expensive in BiH from December 2!

Prices of flour on the shelves of retail chains in Bosnia and Herzegovina will increase from next Tuesday, reports the BiH news agency Patria (NAP).

Higher flour prices in BiH will occur due to the increase in wheat prices in the region, from where Bosnia and Herzegovina imports more than 60 percent of its annual needs.

Mesud Lakota from the BiH Consumers' Association confirmed for NAP that flour prices will increase in BiH, but that the Association does not yet have information on how much more expensive flour will be.

- It was a difficult year for agricultural producers, and an increase in the prices of wheat and wheat products was expected - said Lakota.

Bosnia and Herzegovina does not have wheat commodity reserves, so even the smallest increase in the price of this product in the region directly affects the prices of flour in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Lakota warns that the authorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina should ensure wheat commodity reserves, which would be sufficient for at least three months. This, he believes, would also ensure the stability of flour prices on the BiH market, writes NAP.
