Winter equipment mandatory for vehicles from November 15

All vehicles traveling through BiH must have winter tires from November 15, and vehicles that do not have them must have appropriate chains in the trunk for mounting on the drive wheels, writes the BiH news agency Patria (NAP).

Drivers whose vehicles do not have winter equipment, if stopped by the police, can be fined 40 KM, and for causing a traffic accident due to inappropriate vehicle equipment, the fines range from 50 to 200 KM.

BIHAMK explains that winter equipment for motor vehicles, whose maximum permissible mass does not exceed three and a half tons, includes winter tires (M+S) on all wheels or summer tires with a minimum tread depth of four millimeters and with snow chains ready for installation on the drive wheels.

This auto-moto club warns drivers that the purchase of winter equipment should not be seen as a loss of money but as an investment in the safety of drivers, as well as all other road users.
