Of 1,411 Hajj pilgrims from BiH, the oldest is 86-year-old Nesima Delić

With a cycle of educational seminars, the final preparations for the upcoming Hajj have been completed for future pilgrims from BiH. Over the past ten days, seminars were organized individually by muftiships, during which the pilgrims were acquainted with the upcoming journey of a lifetime and the obligations awaiting them on this journey. Also, the pilgrims were given: suitcases, vests, neck wallets, and a brochure about the Hajj, reports the Patria agency.

According to the head of the Office for Hajj and Umrah, Nezim Halilović, and in accordance with the Protocol signed with the Ministry of Hajj of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, this year, as in previous years, the number of pilgrims from Bosnia and Herzegovina is limited to 1,411. This number includes the Hajj leadership, i.e., guides and the medical team.

- Otherwise, the permitted number from BiH is 2,200 pilgrims. However, in the last four years, due to the large construction expansion of the Haram in Mecca, there has been a reduction in the number for all countries, so that is the case with BiH as well - Halilović pointed out.

On the journey to the blessed places of Mecca and Medina, pilgrims from BiH will depart on flights from Sarajevo Airport on August 29, 30, and 31.

- The return is planned for September 17, 18, 19, and 20. The youngest future pilgrim is my son, Amar Halilović. He was born in 1998, and the oldest pilgrim is Nesima Delić from Sarajevo, born in 1930 - Halilović emphasized.

On flights from Sarajevo Airport on Monday, August 29 (4 flights), part of the pilgrims from Sarajevo will travel, as well as pilgrims from Tuzla, Banja Luka, Bihać, Goražde, and from the Military Muftiship; on Tuesday, August 30 (two flights), pilgrims from Zenica and part of the pilgrims from Sarajevo will travel; while on Wednesday, August 31 (two flights), pilgrims from Travnik and the remaining pilgrims from Sarajevo will travel.

This year, as in previous years, among our pilgrims there is a large number of young married couples, students, and young people. In this regard, Halilović pointed out that the number of young people going on Hajj is increasing year by year, and that in this way the awareness of our people about the Hajj is improving.

- They are aware that all those who have the financial means and fulfill other Sharia regulations are obliged to perform the Hajj as soon as possible and not to postpone the Hajj for old age. Awareness about the Hajj is improving - Halilović emphasized, adding that pilgrims also have various wishes:

- We have those who want to fly on the first plane and return on the first, and there are also those who want to fly on the first and return on the last plane. This is all in accordance with their obligations and possibilities - Halilović said.
