Winter equipment mandatory in BiH from November 1, but first snowflakes already falling

(Patria) - Although the obligation to possess winter equipment in Bosnia and Herzegovina comes into effect on November 1, some mountain peaks are already white, heralding the arrival of colder days and difficult road conditions. Drivers are advised to prepare their vehicles in time, install winter equipment, and adjust their driving to road conditions.

Roadworks and slow traffic:

M-17 Zenica–Doboj (Donja Vraca–Liješnica): slow, alternating traffic flow from 09:00 to 17:00 (except Sundays).

Konjic–Jablanica (bridge near Crnaja tunnel): works on expansion joints, traffic regulated by traffic lights.

M-17.5 Jablanica–Blidinje (Jablanica–Kosne Luke): vehicles up to 3.5 t slow, alternating traffic flow (07:00–17:30, except Sundays); traffic still prohibited for heavy vehicles.

A-1 motorway Podlugovi–Sarajevo sjever, and main roads Tuzla–Orašje (Cerik), Jablanica–Prozor (Mirci), Semizovac–Olovo, Gacko–Foča (Sastavci), Mostar–Čitluk (entrance to Čitluk) and Jajce–Crna Rijeka – current works.

Regional road Zavidovići–Kamenica completely closed, traffic diverted to alternative routes.

Border crossings:

Waiting times for passenger vehicles up to 30 minutes.

GP Brčko open for vehicles up to 3.5 t.

At GP Karakaj, passage is prohibited for vehicles over 5 t (trucks use Bratunac or Rača; buses GP Šepak).

At GP Šepak, vehicles over 5 t can cross from 09:00 to 13:00 and 22:00 to 06:00, and on weekends only during the night shift (22:00–06:00).
