Congestion expected on most roads in Bosnia and Herzegovina, especially on the Sarajevo-Mostar route

(Patria) - It is the holiday season, so today we expect congestion on most roads in Bosnia and Herzegovina, especially on the Sarajevo-Mostar route in both directions. Due to high daytime temperatures, we recommend traveling longer distances in the early morning or late afternoon hours. If you do travel during the hottest part of the day, we advise taking more frequent breaks.

Since the early morning hours, vehicle traffic has been increased at certain border crossings. There are long waits for exit from our country at the border crossings: Bosanska Gradiška, Izačić, Gradina, Velika Kladuša and Orašje. Please note that waiting times at border crossings are subject to frequent changes. Drivers can view cameras on our website bihamk.ba.

There are numerous sections where roadworks are underway and traffic is moving slowly. We highlight the main roads: Semizovac-Olovo, Kladanj-Vlasenica, Prozor-Gornji Vakuf/Uskoplje, Foča-Ustikolina, Dobro Polje-Miljevina and Bijeljina-Rača.

Keep a safe distance between vehicles and always use your seatbelt. We ask truck drivers to briefly pull over when they notice a long line of passenger vehicles behind them, in order to avoid risky overtaking.
On the main road Rogatica-Ustiprača, due to bridge damage, vehicles up to 30 tons are using one lane, while traffic for vehicles over 30 tons is suspended.

Until the end of August, the Krstac border crossing (on the Gacko-Nikšić road) is open for passenger traffic.
