Heated session of the BiH Presidency expected

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The session of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina is scheduled for tomorrow, February 19, and it will be the first session after the adoption of conclusions by the National Assembly of Republika Srpska as a reaction to the decision of the Constitutional Court of BiH that agricultural land in RS is state property. Following the decision of the Constitutional Court of BiH, RS announced a blockade in decision-making in BiH institutions, demanding that there be no more foreign judges in the Constitutional Court of BiH. This idea of SNSD and Milorad Dodik was also supported by HDZ BiH and Dragan Čović.

The Presidency announced that BiH Presidency member Šefik Džaferović will address the media after the session.

Tomorrow's session of the BiH Presidency could be heated because Dodik will seek a discussion on the appointment of a foreign judge to the Constitutional Court of BiH. Also, Željko Komšić was in Brussels on Sunday at a working dinner with EU and EC leaders, and Dodik claimed that he went there privately, meaning he would not convey a "legitimate opinion".

A few days ago, Dodik held a meeting at the BiH Presidency with ambassadors of the Quint (USA, Germany, Italy, France, Great Britain) and the EU, whom he informed about RS's position that it will block decision-making in state institutions and about the request regarding the composition of the Constitutional Court of BiH.

Several political parties have called on the OHR and High Representative Valentin Inzko to take action to stop the undermining of the constitutional order of BiH, as well as the competent judicial institutions. Dodik has already announced a referendum on the independence of RS.
