Driving test suspended in USK due to debt to the commission

The commission for driving tests in the Una-Sana Canton has decided to suspend further driving tests due to financial debts to the commission, reports the Patria agency.

The negotiating team of the commission for driving tests in USK held a meeting on July 31, where a decision was made to suspend testing due to debts to the commission incurred in the period from September 1, 2015, to June 30, 2017.

- We hereby emphasize that the agreement of the USK Government regarding the plan for settling outstanding fees, which we jointly accepted at the meeting held on July 11, 2017, was not respected. Of the agreed payments, only three of the seven agreed fees were paid, along with the continuation of monthly payments of two fees. The Prime Minister of the USK Government firmly promised to personally engage to prevent such incidents in the future, and immediately instructed the Ministry of Finance of USK to implement the agreement.

Respecting the agreement, the commission held exams on July 15, 2017, immediately after the payment of the first tranche, with the belief that the second agreed tranche of 4 fees would be paid by the next exam period (July 29, 2017), but this did not happen, and thus the process of driving tests was suspended.

Unfortunately, after all warnings and pleas, we are forced to take this step because we see no other way to obtain the earned fees. Through our work, we have enabled significant funds that are paid into the cantonal budget annually for driving tests, amounting to around 800,000.00 KM, and the question arises where the paid money was spent, which was specifically allocated for fee payments in the distribution ratio to the commission of 23.57(%), while the remaining 76.43(%) is intended for education in this field, certification, equipping, and improvement of the driving test system.

The commission continues to call on the USK Government to respect the agreement, which is: to pay the second tranche of 4 fees with the continuation of regular monthly payments of two fees, and thereby unblock the process of driving tests.
