Agenda of the Sarajevo Canton Assembly rejected, financing of the Health Insurance Institute in question

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The regular session of the Sarajevo Canton Assembly, which was supposed to be held today, ended ingloriously after the agenda failed to secure the necessary majority in the vote. 

Fourteen deputies from the assembly majority voted for the agenda, while seven opposition deputies abstained, meaning it did not receive the required number of votes. 

Among other things, the deputies were supposed to consider today the Proposal for a Decision on granting consent to the Financial Plan of the Health Insurance Institute of Sarajevo Canton for 2022 and the Decision on the execution of the Financial Plan of the Health Insurance Institute of Sarajevo Canton for 2022. 

As NiP leader and deputy Elmedin Konaković said after the agenda fell through, this will cause problems for the ZZO KS, because due to procedures, the Proposal for a Decision can only be brought before the Assembly again in 20 to 25 days, thereby halting the financing of this institute during that period. Konaković added that this is the first time the opposition has brought down the agenda in the Sarajevo Canton Assembly. 

From the SDA, they stated that they could not support the agenda with the Proposal for a Decision regarding the ZZO out of responsibility towards healthcare workers. 

Incidentally, today, out of the 35 deputies that make up the Sarajevo Canton Assembly, 21 showed up for work.
