Olympic Street Renovated, Traffic to Be Opened Sunday Evening

(Patria) - Renovation works on Olympic Street, in the area of Novi Grad municipality, from the junction with Safeta Hadžića Street to the roundabout, have been completed. The renovated road will be opened for traffic this evening.

This is a road that has not been renovated since the Olympics, and through the project of the Ministry of Transport and the Roads Directorate of the Sarajevo Canton, 622 meters of roadway have been renovated, as well as sidewalks on both sides of the road, which were in extremely poor condition and very unsafe for pedestrians.

Minister of Transport of Sarajevo Canton Adnan Šteta emphasized that this improves the quality and safety of all traffic participants.

"Next year, we plan to renovate the road that is in extremely poor condition, the one on Ive Andrića Street. This will give us a quality functional unit, into which the Ministry of Transport and the Roads Directorate of the Sarajevo Canton have invested significant funds, and which connects two parts of Novi Grad. This unit will lead us from the roundabout at the Airport, via the A transversal, Olympic Street, Ive Andrića Street, across the roundabout in Džemala Bijedića and further over the bridge towards the IX transversal and the highway," said Minister Šteta.

The value of the works performed by KJKP Rad is 705,981.96 with VAT, and the funds were secured from the budget of the Ministry of Transport and the Roads Directorate of the Sarajevo Canton.
