(Patria) - Regarding the continuation of activities on the renovation of the gymnasium at "Vladislav Skarić" Elementary School, which was destroyed due to a landslide, a working meeting was held at the premises of the Centar Municipality with the aim of assessing the current situation and determining concrete next steps in the process of realizing this project.
The meeting was attended by the Minister of Education and Pedagogy of Sarajevo Canton Naida Hota-Muminović, the Mayor of Centar Municipality Srđan Mandić, the Director of the Sarajevo Construction Institute Belma Barlov, the school principal Meho Pirić, as well as representatives of the Parents' Council of "Vladislav Skarić" Elementary School.
All participants of the meeting expressed their commitment to finally initiate the process of renovating the gymnasium and to bring it to completion in accordance with the existing regulatory plan, placing the interests of children as an absolute priority.
After a constructive and substantive meeting, Minister Hota-Muminović stated that the relevant ministry remains fully committed to improving the infrastructure in all schools of Sarajevo Canton:
"Our goal is clear – to provide students with a safe, functional, and modern gymnasium. It is especially important that the process is transparent, efficient, and coordinated with all relevant institutions, because we want students and teachers to have adequate working conditions as soon as possible," the minister emphasized.
During the meeting, three key problems that are currently slowing down further activities were identified.
It was particularly emphasized that, although the process has been ongoing for four and a half years, the competent institutions continue their activities solely guided by the interests of the students, without abandoning the goal.
The Parents' Council of "Vladislav Skarić" Elementary School will continue to actively monitor all phases of this process and inform the public about further steps, expected deadlines, and decisions of the competent institutions, because the children of this school and their parents deserve clear information, transparency, and concrete solutions, not further delays.
