(Patria) - The Sarajevo City Council will, among other things, consider the Draft Decision on erecting a memorial plaque for young doctors Azra Spahić and Alma Suljić who tragically died in a traffic accident at Marijin Dvor at tomorrow's session.
A conceptual design for the memorial plaque, which is intended to be placed at the accident site on Dolina Street, has also been published.
"A serious traffic accident occurred in the Sarajevo neighborhood of Marijin Dvor on May 26, 2023, in which two young doctors, Dr. Azra Spahić and Dr. Alma Suljić, lost their lives.
The City of Sarajevo plans to erect a memorial plaque aimed at permanently preserving the memory of the young doctors.
Furthermore, the memorial plaque will serve as a permanent reminder to future generations to understand the seriousness of traffic accidents and to encourage greater attention to traffic safety," the decision states.
The City of Sarajevo undertakes the obligation to finance and maintain the memorial plaque.
"It is necessary to obtain prior approvals from the competent institutions, given that the building on which the memorial plaque is planned to be placed is a national monument of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and any intervention on the building's facade requires special approvals," the decision adds.
