Answers to the EC Questionnaire Published

Following today's handover ceremony to representatives of the European Commission, BiH's answers to the European Commission's Questionnaire are publicly available on the website of the Directorate for European Integration. The answers to the Questionnaire represent the result of hard work and commitment of institutions at all levels of government.

In preparing the answers to the 3,242 questions from the European Commission's Questionnaire, 1,083 civil servants from all levels of government worked for 14 months in 35 working groups, appointed to 1,600 positions (some civil servants participated in the work of multiple European integration working groups). In addition to them, 15 members of the Commission for European Integration and 20 members of the College for European Integration were included in the work. 70 meetings of bodies within the coordination mechanism were held during the technical finalization of the answers.

A total of 20,037 pages of answers were prepared. Along with the answers and attachments, 1,151 documents (laws, bylaws, etc.) referred to in the answers were also submitted. In addition to the answers from BiH institutions, answers from civil society organizations to 177 questions from the EC Questionnaire were also handed over to the European Commission. The Directorate has, symbolically according to the number of chapters, selected and enabled citizens to answer 35 questions of general public importance. 5,347 answers from BiH citizens were collected, which were also handed over to the European Commission. The Questionnaire is an instrument used by the European Commission to prepare its opinion on BiH's application for EU membership, and the answers to the questions from the Questionnaire are one of the sources of information that the European Commission will use in this process.
