Tender Published for Construction of Hydropower Plant "Vranduk"

"Elektroprivreda" BiH has published an international public call for pre-qualification of companies and consortia for the construction of Hydropower Plant "Vranduk", reports the Patria News Agency. The public call relates to the preparation of project documentation (main and execution project), production, delivery and installation of equipment, execution of construction works, plant testing and commissioning.

Documentation for pre-qualification can be submitted no later than April 17, 2014, after which JP EPBiH will evaluate the submitted applications. The Hydropower Plant "Vranduk" project is financed from own funds and funds from international financial institutions – the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the European Investment Bank.

The credit arrangement with the EBRD has already been signed and is operational, and the process of approving financing for the project by the EIB is also underway. The total value of Hydropower Plant "Vranduk" is 127 million KM.

Investigative works for the preparation of the main project of Hydropower Plant "Vranduk" are underway. Field investigative works are accompanied by adequate laboratory testing of soil and rocks. During the investigation, approximately 40 boreholes will be drilled at the dam profile, intake structure, powerhouse, as well as along the future reservoir of Hydropower Plant "Vranduk".

The aim of the investigation is to prepare a comprehensive geological-geotechnical, geophysical and seismological basis so that the main project designer of Hydropower Plant "Vranduk" can create conditions for the start of construction in the shortest possible time after commencing work.
