Public Call for 5th Music Meeting Published

From today until October 14, young musicians interested in jazz and improvised music can apply for the regional educational program Music Meeting, which will be held from November 2 to 6, within the 20th Jazz Fest Sarajevo 2016, writes the Patria News Agency.

Applications for Music Meeting are submitted via the form on the website www.jazzfest.ba, and the program is intended for musicians and music students aged 18 to 35, from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Montenegro, Kosovo, and Macedonia.

Program participants will take part in numerous activities, including workshops and discussions with international artists – guests of the festival, and Music Meeting will also enable joint performances by participants, which form the basis for potential future collaborations of regional musicians, which is one of the program's goals.

Musicians accepted into the program will have their travel and hotel accommodation costs in Sarajevo covered, and they will attend all programs of the 20th Jazz Fest Sarajevo 2016 free of charge.

Music Meeting was established in 2012. In previous years, it has been recognized as a unique platform for young musicians in the wider region, which has so far gathered more than 200 young people. The program is being realized this year thanks to project partners, the American Embassy in Sarajevo and the Open Society Fund Bosnia and Herzegovina.
