(Patria) - Minister for Veterans' Affairs of Sarajevo Canton Omer Osmanović attended the marking of the 31st anniversary of the formation of the 105th Motorized Brigade of the Army of RBiH today at the Mala kula memorial on Grdonj, thus paying tribute to all members of this brigade who lost their lives in actions for the defense of the city of Sarajevo.
Family members, friends, and comrades-in-arms previously laid flowers at the martyrs' cemeteries and paid tribute to the fallen through sports activities.
As stated at today's commemoration, it is important to remind and warn for a better future for our generations.
“What they failed to do in the nineties was to destroy our will to live and our Bosnian spirit. Our strength lies in that. By marking such dates, we remember and do not forget our heroes, who have entrusted us to move forward. Peace and stability are a priority for all of us. We are proud that the names of our defenders are honorable, and we remember them as such,” was the message from today's commemoration.
The 105th Motorized Brigade had about 7,000 fighters, of whom 317 were killed and 2,000 were wounded. Those present also used this day to visit the Museum of the 105th Motorized Brigade, located in the immediate vicinity of the Mala kula memorial.
