32nd anniversary of the murder of nine fellow citizens in Boljakov Potok marked

(Patria) - A delegation of Sarajevo Canton laid flowers today at the site of the massacre at the local cemetery in the Boljakov Potok settlement, paying tribute to the murdered fellow citizens.

32 years ago, during the funeral prayer for Fatima Jusić at the aforementioned cemetery, two grenades were fired from positions of the Army of Republika Srpska in Nedžarići, one of which fell among the gathered citizens. Its fragmentation effect killed nine and wounded 20 of our fellow citizens.

Those killed were: Asim Cvrk, Meho Čakarić, Alija Čaušević, Imšir Kerla, Mustafa Karajčić, Ibrahim Šehović, Ramo Veljan, and two unidentified male persons.

As was stated at this location, the scars from the consequences of the aggressor's actions, pain and disbelief, still rule our souls, because loved ones are never forgotten.

It was also emphasized that all the suffering of Sarajevo's civilians and the torture they were subjected to during the four-year siege of the city will not be forgotten.

In addition to the cantonal delegation led by Assembly representative Vedrana Vujović and assistant in the Ministry of Labor, Social Policy, Displaced Persons and Refugees Nurija Hodžić, as well as the families and friends of the victims, the commemoration of this sad anniversary was also attended by delegations from the City of Sarajevo, the Municipality of Novi Grad, the Local Community, and representatives of the Union of Civilian War Victims of Sarajevo Canton.
