32nd anniversary of the beginning of the dissolution of one of the most notorious camps in Europe marked

(Patria) - Vice President of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina Refik Lendo attended today the marking of the 32nd anniversary of the beginning of the dissolution of the Manjača camp.

Lendo also visited the Bunarevi pit, a mass grave where the remains of 23 killed Bosniaks from Ključ and Sanski Most were found.

The marking of the anniversary of the dissolution of one of the most notorious camps in Europe was attended by several hundred former camp inmates, members of their families, citizens, and representatives of various levels of government.

- It is our duty, by visiting this place and marking anniversaries, to preserve the memory of the victims of this and similar camps where Bosniaks, Croats, Roma, and all those whom the then RS authorities wanted to remove from these areas were imprisoned, abused, and killed - said Lendo.

He paid special attention to the issue of prosecuting those responsible for the committed crimes.

- Instead of prosecuting persons from the A list of the Hague Tribunal, which was submitted to the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and which they hide in drawers and thus protect criminals, or prosecuting all those for whom there is evidence or reasonable suspicion that they participated in the commission of mass crimes, including crimes in the Manjača camp or the murders of Bosniaks whose bodies were found in the Bunarevi pit, the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, by fabricating indictments against honorable generals of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, is trying to change the character of the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina and equalize responsibility for crimes.

Those who defended the state and did not bloody their hands will never be the same as those who tried to divide it, while creating camps and committing the most terrible crimes against civilians - added Lendo.

During the day, Lendo held a meeting with representatives of the Association of Camp Inmates of Una-Sana Canton "Dr. Irfan Ljubijankić" Sanski Most, with whom he discussed the issue of resolving their status and the need for adequate marking of the camp and memorialization of the victims.

He also met with the newly elected Mayor of Ključ Municipality Jasmin Musić, whom he congratulated on his election victory and wished him a successful term.

Lendo and Musić discussed priorities for the development of Ključ, potential projects that would dynamize that development, and possibilities for support from the federal level of government in their implementation.
