26th anniversary of the Trusina crime marked

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The 26th anniversary of the war crime in Trusina near Konjic was marked today, in which members of the Army of RBiH killed 18 civilians of Croatian nationality, and four captured members of the Croatian Defence Council.

Members of the victims' families laid flowers at the memorial.

The crime occurred in the morning hours and was committed by members of the special purpose unit "Zulfikar".

For this crime, Edin Džeko was finally sentenced to 13 years in prison and Rasema Handanović, who was sentenced to five and a half years in prison after admitting guilt.

The Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina also handed down a sentence of 15 years to Nihad Bojadžić for the crime in Trusina, while Nedžad Hodžić and Mensur Memić were sentenced to 12 and ten years, respectively.

The proceedings against Zulfikar Ališpaga, commander of the Special Unit for Special Purposes "Zulfikar" of the Army of BiH, in this case were separated in 2014 due to illness. He is currently on trial before the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina on charges of failing to take measures to punish subordinate members of the ARBiH for the murder of 18 civilians and four members of the Croatian Defence Council (HVO).
