25th Anniversary of Hero Čedomir Domuz's Death Marked

In the presence of around 300 admirers of the character and work of Čedomir Domuz, the 25th anniversary of this hero's death was marked today on Brezovača hill. That heroes do not die is proven by this gathering, which brought the heroes of the 1992-1995 war closer to all citizens who were on Brezovača today in a new way. Domuz was killed on July 30, 1992, on Rogoj - Trnovo, as a soldier, serving as commander of a reconnaissance and sabotage platoon as a member of the Ministry of Interior of the RBiH, reports the Patria agency.

Posthumously, in 1992, he was awarded the highest wartime recognition, the "Golden Lily," and in 1994, the "Order of the Golden Coat of Arms with Swords."

- What is actually specific and what you have certainly all noticed is the fact that among us (the organizers of this event) there is not a single veteran, and that is precisely the main difference of our association and our way of marking anniversaries, compared to all others, where the main bearers of activities are surviving veterans, war military invalids, or bearers of the highest wartime recognitions. Our goal is for young people, your children and grandchildren, to conceive and realize these events and be the fuel for the operation of this association. And you, our esteemed veterans, you will be honorary guests at our events. You will be the ones sitting proudly in the front rows, you will be the ones giving us support, you, the survivors, will be the inexhaustible material from which we will weave a great story, as colorful as a Bosnian rug, with all your differences, specificities, experiences, emotions, with everything you can offer and tell us – said Sanja Sadiković, president of the Association "Thunder in the Bosom of Igman."

Numerous of Čedo's comrades-in-arms were on Brezovača today. They remembered that day.

- I experienced Čedo's death like the death of my relative Coce, the commander of the 'Kobre' unit, and like Tito's death, when I thought it was the end of the world. Even now I feel the cold and chill that overcame me when I saw him dead - said Šehić.

The program was attended by the Minister for Veterans' Affairs, Muharem Fišo, a delegation from the Hadžići municipality, and numerous members of veterans' associations, comrades-in-arms, and citizens.

After the program, an exhibition of war memorabilia from the Domuz family and collector Armin Fazlić was held.
